CHIN PLASTIC SURGERY
A chin that droops over the jawline is called a ptotic chin. Not infrequently, it is seen in young people as a familial trait, but more commonly the droop develops over time as the chin pad slides downward along with the soft tissues elsewhere in the face and neck. In some patients, the droop only appears with a smile - regrettably making some of these patients reluctant to smile. Dr. Feldman's technique for correction of the ptotic chin, published in 1992, involves a customized removal of the sagging skin and fat - as was done for both patients seen here.
